Should এর ব্যবহার
Should এর অর্থ উচিৎ, এবার আসুন Should এর ব্যবহার গুলো জেনে নিইঃ
EXAMPLES:
- I should do the work. (আমার কাজটা করা উচিৎ। )
- You should not smoke here. ( তোমার এখানে ধুমপান করা উচিৎ না।)
- They should Speak English in the corporate meeting. (কর্পোরেট মিটিং-এ তাদের ইংরেজি কথা বলা উচিৎ।)
More Examples:
- I should drink tea/ I should not drink wine.
- We should play cricket/ We should not play cards.
- You should avoid quarrelling/ You should not avoid getting opportunity of work.
- They should wear formal dress/ They should not wear casual dress.
- He should utilize his time/ She should not waste time.
- It should eat food/ It shouldn’t sleep now.
Should এর ব্যবহার ২
কোন একটা কাজ এতক্ষনে হয়ে যাওয়ার কথা বা এমন কোন সম্ভাবনা থাকলে should ব্যবহার হয়। (যৌক্তিক অনুমান/ধারনা)
EXAMPLE:
- They should be there by now – এতক্ষনে তারা সেখানে পৌছে গেছে বা পৌছে যাওয়ারই তো কথা এমন বঝালে।
- It should not be more than tk. 500 – এটা তো ৫০০ টাকার বেশী হওয়ার কথা না।
- They should be finishing their work by now – এতক্ষনে তারা তাদের কাজ শেষ করে ফেলেছে। এটা একটা যৌক্তিক অনুমান।
Should এর ব্যবহার ৩
প্রশ্ন বা অনুমতি চাওয়ার ক্ষেত্রেঃ-
EXAMPLE:
- Should we leave now?- আমরা কি এখন যাব। (অনুমতি)
- When should we start our work? – আমরা কখন কাজ শুরু করবো? (প্রশ্ন)
Should এর ব্যবহার ৪
Should অর্থ উচিৎ কিন্তু Should have দিয়ে উচিৎ হয়েছে বা উচিৎ হয়নি বা উচিৎ ছিল এমন বুঝায়।
Example:
- I should have joined the meeting – মিটিং -এ উপস্থিত হওয়া বা উপস্থিত থাকা আমার উচিৎ ছিল। কিন্তু মিটিং -এ উপস্থিত ছিলাম না।
- I should have given up Smoking – আমার ধুমপান ছেড়ে দেওয়া উচিৎ ছিল।
- You should have learned English – তোমার ইংরেজি শেখা উচিৎ ছিল।
Negative:
- I should not have joined the meeting – মিটিং –এ উপস্থিত হওয়া আমার উচিৎ হয়নি।
- I shouldn’t have given up trying – আমার প্রচেষ্টা ছেড়ে দেওয়া উচিৎ হয়নি।
- You shouldn’t have wasted your time – তোমার সময় নষ্ট করা উচিৎ হয়নি।
Should এর ব্যবহার ৫
Passive – এর Should এর ব্যবহার = Sub+ Should be+ Verb (past participle)+Ext
Examples:
- The poor should be helped – গরীবদের কে সাহায্য করা উচিৎ।
- Criminal should be punished – দুষ্কৃতিকারীদের শাস্তি হওয়া উচিৎ।
- They should be brought under law – তাদেরকে আইনের আওতায় আনা উচিৎ।
