Tense এর উপর ভিত্তি করে কিভাবে ইংরেজীতে কথা বলবেন? তা বিবিন্ন structure এর মাধ্যমে দেখানো হলঃ

স্পিকিং English with Simple Expression

Present Simple

Positive: Subject + Verb(present form) + Extension
I speak English. আমি ইংরেজি বলি।
He walks to school everyday. সে প্রতিদিন হেঁটে স্কুলে যায়।

Negative: Sub + don’t/doesn’t + verb + Extension
I don’t speak English. আমি ইংরেজি বলিনা
He doesn’t walk to school everyday. সে প্রতিদিন হেঁটে স্কুলে যায় না।

Past simple

Positive: Subject + মূল verb-এর Past form + Extension.
Saiful went to Spain last year. সাইফুল গতবছর স্পেনে গিয়েছিল।
He bought a new bicycle yesterday. সে গতকাল একটি নতুন বাইসাইকেল কিনেছি।

Negative: Subject + didn’t + মূল verb-এর base form + Extension.
Saiful didn’t go to Spain last year. সাইফুল গতবছর স্পেনে যায়নি।
They didn’t do anything last Monday. তারা গত সোমবার কিছুই করে…

Future simple

Positive: Subject + shall/will + মূল Verb + Extension.
Maria will take her dinner at 10 o’clock . মারিয়া 10 টায় তার রাতের খাবার খাবে।
Hasan will buy a new dress tomorrow. হাসান আগামীকাল একটি নতুন জামা কিনবে।

Negative: Subject + shall not/will not + মূল Verb + Extension.
Maria won’t take her dinner at 8 o’clock. মারিয়া ৮ টায় রাতের খাবার খাবে না।
Hasan won’t buy a new dress tomorrow. হাসান আগামীকাল নতুন জামা কিনবে না।

স্পিকিং English with Continuous Expression

Present Continuous

Positive: Subject + am/is/are + Verb + ing + Extension.
He is drinking coffee now. সে এখন কফি পান কর…
They are playing tennis at this moment. তারা এই মুহূর্তে টেনিস খেলছে।

Negative: Subject + am not/isn’t/aren’t + Verb + ing + Extension.

I am not drinking tea now. আমি এখন চা পান করছি না।
He isn’t taking exercise. সে ব্যায়াম করছে না।
They aren’t working in this company. তারা এই কোম্পানিতে কাজ করছে না ।

Past Continuous

Positive: Subject + was/were + Verb + ing + Extension.
I was sleeping then. আমি তখন ঘুমাচ্ছিলাম।
He was writing Email for his boss. সে তার বসের জন্য ইমেইল লিখছিল।
They were making fun. তারা মজা করছিল।

Negative: Subject + wasn’t/weren’t + Verb + ing + Extension.
I wasn’t sleeping then. আমি তখন ঘুমাচ্ছিলাম না।
He wasn’t writing email for his boss. সে তার বসের জন্য ইমেইল লিখছিল …
They weren’t making fun. তারা মজা করছিল না।

Future continuous

Positive: Subject+ shall be/will be+ Verb + ing + Extension.
I will be studying for my examination. আমি পরীক্ষার জন্য পড়াশোনা করতে থাকবো।
They will be discussing about the project. তারা প্রজেক্ট সম্পর্কে আলোচনা করতে থাকবে।
He will be talking about the trip he made. সে যে ভ্রমণটি করেছিল তা নিয়ে কথা বলবে কথা বলতে থাকবে।

Negative: Subject+won’t be+ Verb + ing + Extension.
I won’t be watching the game. আমি গেমটি দেখতে থাকব না।
He won’t be playing card. সে কার্ড খেলতে থাকবো না।
They won’t be waiting for you. তারা তোমার জন্য অপেক্ষা করতে থাকবে না।

Present Perfect

Positive: Subject + have/has + Verb-এর Past Participle + Extension.
We have written our reports. আমরা আমাদের রিপোর্ট লিখেছি।
He has done his work. সে তার কাজ করেছে।
They have finished the program. তারা প্রোগ্রামটি শেষ করেছে।

Negative: Subject + haven’t /hasn’t + Verb-এর Past Participle + Extension.
We haven’t written our business proposal. আমরা আমাদের বিজনেস প্রপোজাল লিখি…
He hasn’t done his work. সে তার কাজ করেনি।
They haven’t finished their program yet. তারা এখনও তাদের প্রোগ্রাম শেষ করে করে নি।

Past perfect

Positive: Subject + had + মূল Verb-এর Past Participle + Extension.
The train had left the station before I reached there. আমরা স্টেশনে পৌঁছার আগেই ট্রেন ছেড়ে গেছে।
We had taken our dinner before father came home. বাবা বাসায় আসার আগেই আমরা আমাদের ডিনার করে ফেলেছি।

Negative: Subject + hadn’t + মূল Verb-এর Past Participle + Extension.
The train hadn’t left the station before i reached there. আমি স্টেশনে পৌঁছার আগেই ট্রেন ছাড়েনি।
We hadn’t taken our dinner before father came home. বাবা বাসায় আসার আগে আমরা আমাদের ডিনার করি নি।

Future perfect

Positive: Subject+shall have/will have+ মূল Verb-এর Past Participle + Extension.
I will have written the email within a few days. কয়েক দিনের মধ্যেই আমি ইমেইলটি লিখে ফেলবো।
They committee will have investigated the incident in a month. কমিটি এক মাসের মধ্যেই ঘটনাটি তদন্ত করবে করেই থাকবে।

Negative: Subject+shan’t have/won’t have+ মূল Verb-এর Past Participle + Extension.
He wont have completed the work because he is so lazy. সে তার কাজটি করেই থাকবে না, কারণ সে অনেক অলস ।
They won’t have played cricket. তারা ক্রিকেট খেলেই থাকবে না।

1. What’s the use of…………./ what’s the point of……।।

What’s the use of your saying so. তোমার এই কথা বলার মানে কি?

What’s the point of arguing with the lady? এই মহিলার সাথে ঝগড়া করার অর্খ কি?

2. Where can I………

Where can I get the book? বইটি আমি কোথায় পেতে পারি?

Where can I get my lost phone? আমার হারনো ফোনটি আমি কোথায় পেতে পারি?

Where there is a will there is a way. ইছা থাকলে উপায় হয়।

Where there are a lot of problems there are a lot of solutions. যেখানে অনেক সমস্যা সেখানে অনেক সমাধান।

5. Whether or ….not…

Whether it rains or not, we’ll play the match. বৃষ্টি হোক বা না হোক, আমরা ম্যাচটি খেলবই।
We will find out the truth whether you tell me or not. তুমি আমাকে বল বা না বল, আমরা সত্য বের করবই।

6. Why not…

Why not tell him to join with us. তাকে আমাদের সাথে যোগ দিতে বলনা কেন?

Why don’t you ask them whether they will repay us or not. তারা আমাদের পাওনা ফেরত দিবে কি দিবেনা সেটা জিজ্ঞেস করনা কেন?

Would you care for … Something?

Would you care for a cup of hot coffee? আপনি কি এক কাপ কফি খাবেন?।

Would you care for have a dinner with me tonight? আপনি কি আজ রাতে আমার সাথে ডিনার করবেন।

You can never be too careful……..

You can never be too careful driving. ড্রাইভিং এর সময় খুব ই সতর্ক হতে হবে।
You can never be too careful studying for your exam. তোমার পরীক্ষার জন্য পড়ার সময় খুব ই সতর্ক সতর্ক হতে হবে।

You only have to…..

You only have to ask him to know what happened last night. গত রাতে কি ঘঠেছে তা জানার জন্য তুমি শুধুমাত্র তাকে জিজ্ঞস কর।

You only have to ask the trainer in order to solve the problem. সমস্যা টি সমাধানের জন্য তুমি শুধুমাত্র ট্রেইনার কে জিজ্ঞস কর।

You may as well…………….

You may as well learn Spanish since you are trying to go Spain.যেহেতু তুমি স্পেন যাচ্ছো সেহেতু তুমি Spain ভাষাটা শিখে নিতে পারো ।

We may as well buy this computer since we’ll work as freelance. আমরা যেহেতু ফ্রিল্যান্সার হিসেবে কাজ করব সেহেতু একটা কম্পিউটার কিনতে পারি ।

What can I do for..?

What can I do for you? আমি আপনার জন্য কি করতে পারি।

What can I do for them? আমি তাদের জন্য কি করতে পারি।

What can I do to satisfy my family members? আমার পরিবারের সদস্যদের সন্তুষ্টির জন্য আমি কি করতে পারি?

What do you mean by saying that? তুমি এই কথা বলে কি বুঝাতে চাচ্ছ?

What do you mean by shouting at me?আমার সাথে চিল্লাচিল্লি করে তুমি কি বুঝাতে চাচ্ছ?

The first thing I’m going to do when I own a lottery is to give a big party. আমি যদি লটারিতে বিজয়ী হয় তাহলে যে কাজটি আমি প্রথমে করব সেটা হল আমি একটা বড় করে পার্টি দেব।

No matter what he says I don’t believe him. সে যাই বলুক না কেন আমি তাকে বিশ্বাস করিনা।

No matter what you do, I can’t help you. তুমি যাই করনা কেন আমি তোমাকে সাহায্য করতে পারব না।

No wonder…….

He studied so hard, no wonder he got A+ সে যে এ+ পেয়েছে তাতে বিশ্ময় হওয়ার কিছুই নেই, কারন সে প্রচুর পড়াশুনা করেছে ।

He takes exercise everyday, no wonder he is so slim. সে যে স্লিম তাতে বিশ্ময় হওয়ার কিছুই নেই, কারন সে নিয়মিত ব্যয়াম করেছে ।

No that I come to think about it, how foolish I was! এখন আমি বুঝতে পারলাম, আমি কত বোকা ছিলাম!

I ran to the college only to find that the class had over. আমি দৌড়ে কলেজে গিয়েই দেখলাম ক্লাস শেষ হয়ে গেছে।

I arrived at the restaurant only to find I had no money with me. রেস্টুরেন্টে এসেই দেখলাম আমার সাথে কোন টাকা নেই।

On one hand/on the other hand…….. একটি কাজের উভয় দিক বিবেচনা করতে ব্যবহার করা হয়

On one hand it’s the cheapest but on the other hand it’s difficult to use. এক দিকে এটা সবচেয়ে সস্তা অন্য দিকে এটা ব্যবহার করা কঠিন।

On one hand my father is friendly with me but on the other hand he becomes rude when I make any mistake. এক দিকে আমার বাবা আমার সাথে বন্থসুলভ অন্য দিকে তিনি রাগী হয়ে উঠন যদি আমি ভুল করি।

See that…… কোন কিছু নিশ্চিত করতে তাগিদ দেওয়ার জন্য ব্যবহার করা হয়

See that the light is off, before you go to bed. দেখ? ঘুমোতে যাওয়ার আগে যেন লাইট বন্ধ করা হয়।

See that the door is locked, before you go out of room. দেখ? রুম থেকে বের হওয়ার আগে যেন দরজা বন্ধ করা হয়।

স্পিকিং English with Conjunctions

Either or:

Either study or sleep.
You must either follow my instructions or quit.
Ether you or he has broken the glass.

Neither nor:

I will neither eat beef nor mutton.
He neither plays football nor cricket.
Neither he nor I will to to cinema.

Not only but also:

Not only Jamal but also Hamid came to see me.
They not only took away his money but also beat him.
He went not only to the USA but also UK.

Whether ………..or

I don’t know exactly whether I will go there or not.
Whether he comes or not it makes me no sense.

Both ……….and…………………

She is both beautiful and talent.
He is both industrious and diligent.
Both Hamid and Rashid sat for the examination this year.

He is so weak that he can’t walk.
